La chanson contient un extrait du film : "The Elephant Man" (Paramount Pictures). Ce titre n'a jamais fait l'objet de sortiesingle mais demeure pour une grande partie des fans de Michael Jackson, l'un des meilleur titre de l'album "Blood On The Dance Floor".
"Morphine" a fait l'objet de censure dans certains pays puisque le titre a été tout simplement supprimé de l'album.
La fiche technique et l'implication de Michael Jackson dans cette chanson montre à quel point le King Of Pop avait alors un message à faire passer lors de sa réalisation.
De part son aspect musical, cette chanson est tout simplement quelque chose de complètement différent de tout ce qu'avait fait Michael Jackson auparavant.

Dans le film Ghosts, le maire danse sur ce titre mais au départ c'est sur 2Bad qu'il devait le faire, cette modification de dernière minute à eu lieu pour des raisons tactiques puisque le titre a alors été retenu comme future sortie en single.
Le titre Ghosts est alors apparu sur le maxi-cd de History en version edit puis enfin en maxi-cd avec des remixs.
A noter que le coffret Ghosts contient un Limited edition minimax cd avec également un remix de Ghosts.

Le single devait sortir aprés ceux de Blood on the dance floor et HIStory/ghosts mais le projet a été abandonné. Comme tout projet de sortie, cela donna quand même naissance à des disques promo envoyés à certaines radio et boites de nuit. Environ une dixaine de remixs furent également créés pour l'occasion. Ces disques promo sont aujourd'hui des plus rares. Is it scary est un titre de chanson dont les fans avaient souvent entendu parler depuis 1993, ce titre devait au départ apparaître sur la bande originale du film "Les valeurs de la famille Adams" mais le projet avait été abandonné.
Concernant le film "Ghosts", Is is scary n'était au départ pas prévu pour figurer dans le film, ce n'est qu'en prévision de la sortie single du titre que la chanson remplaça un remix de 2Bad sur lequel devait danser le squelette de Michael Jackson à la fin du film.
